How can a teenage girl lose weight fast?

Adolescence is a transitional period between childhood and adulthood during which time the body undergoes substantial changes and therefore requires more calories than usual to enable these changes to occur. Many teenagers find that they are able to eat what they want without seeming to put on weight, but this can quickly change once they hit their twenties and so it is best to get into healthy eating and exercise habits sooner rather than later. There are other teenagers who aren't quite as lucky and find that they do have to watch what they eat all the time or else gain weight.

Weight isn't always the best guide to tell you whether you are healthy or not, since if you are developing properly then of course you will end up heavier than when you started puberty. If you are going to use the Body Mass Index (BMI) as a guide, though, make sure that you use a calculator that takes into account the fact you're a teenager, since your measurements will be different to those of a fully grown adult. You might decide to use clothing sizes as a guide as to whether you are healthy or not, but remember that if you are tall and have a large frame you will generally end up wearing bigger sizes than someone who is shorter, and so again, this method may not be that helpful.

Ultimately, the best situation is one where you implement a healthy eating and exercise programme so that whatever your height, size, and weight you know that you are doing all you can to stay fit and well. It is especially important to eat a balanced diet when you're a teenager as your body needs a range of vitamins, minerals and nutrients to ensure that your body gets everything it requires so that you can become a fully-developed adult. This means eating lots of starchy carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables, dairy products, and protein, while trying to cut down on foods that contain a lot of sugar, salt and saturated fat.

As well as your diet, you also need to make exercise a priority as it will help you burn calories, and therefore put you in a better position to control your weight, while also enabling you to tone up and build muscle. Regular exercise can help stave off illness and disease, improve your mental state, and strengthen your body, and so is well worth making time for.

During adolescence you start to take on more responsibility, and keeping a watchful eye on your weight is something you should aim to do, since doing so could help you stay fit and healthy for a long time.
